A Year To Be Thankful For

On Monday, November 17th, 2008 we celebrated our one year anniversary! We made it!!! Whoohooo....haha, not that we weren't going to make it!! The year just flew by for us.
We spent our day sleeping in then heading to Magnolia Cafe for breakfast (one of our first date places) then walked to the pedestrian bridge at Townlake for a few pics. We then treated ourselves to a pedicure....Joshua loves them now! And for dinner we stuffed ourselves at Z-Tejas, and I really mean stuffed ourselves b/c I was in pain when we left. The food was so good! And we got to eat dinner outside as the sun went down. After our glutton indulgence we grabbed the dogs and headed to my mom and dad's house for some good old wedding cake. And it really was old tasting, we tasted a bit of each cake and said goodbye as we tossed in the sink. But mom bought us a new cake for two! YUM!

Meet Lulu!

We have a new addition to the fam! Sometimes we are kicking ourselves and wondering why we got another dog, guess are hearts are just too big! Joshua got her from a lady at the Quarries that was giving away puppies for free, we couldn't resist! She's part Pyrenees and Mountain View Cur. Thank goodness she looks more like the Cur, but she's getting bigger and bigger!! She loves her Maddy, though I'm not sure the love is returned back from Maddy!

So these two dogs are what Lulu looks like....thank goodness no long hair!! And she's a little lighter than the Cur above.

Crazy Lu Bear! "Someone rub my belly!"

WOW! It's been awhile since I've posted!! Our digital camera broke and I was waiting to get a new one so that I could post new pics along with the blog, BUT that's no excuse! ; )

Well, since I last posted we have tranisitioned into a new season here in Austin, Fall! Actually I don't know if you could qualify it as Fall, maybe we could say it's definitely gotten cooler outside and the weather has been great!
Joshua got a new job in August. He is working at our church's recreation center or Christian Life Center as they call it. He's the Outdoor Sports Coordinator but he also does a ton of other things to help maintain the grounds and keep all those Christians under control! HA! It's a great fit for him, he gets to deal with sports and gets to meet new people! I'm really happy for him. So we are both working for churches now, that's so odd, never thought that would happen! Other than work we are keeping busy this Fall watching the Longhorns have an outstanding season! GO HORNS! We actually went up to Dallas with a group of friends for the TX/OU game, though we didn't make it to the game we hung out at the fair and watch the game on a TV screens right outside the stadium, we had a blast! What a game!

Oh and we are teaching Sunday School for 10th grade at Hyde Park Baptist. Joshua helped out with youth camp back in June and found his niche! He was a hit there, the kids loved him! Which I agree, who wouldn't love him?! ; ) So we thought about helping out in the youth this Fall. I was a little unsure as to whether or not this was for me too, but now a few months into the semester I have to say it has been a great experience thus far! We have about 10 kids in our class and each Sunday is an adventure! Why do they give the kids fruit punch and doughnuts right before class?!?! = )

Our one year anniversary is upon us! Monday we will celebrate our first year as Mr. & Mrs. Marcy. It has flown by, probably b/c we are having fun!!! It really has been great, getting to know each other more and just having someone to live life with has been a blessing! God is continue to work in our hearts and grow us in Him and for that we are thankful! By His great mercy He has provided for us this year and taken care of our needs - He is Jehovah Jireh!

For Christmas we will spend the holiday with his family in Colorado...........I'm so excited, my first white Christmas! Hopefully I will have some awesome photos to display with my new camera that we get at Christmas!

For now here's a pic from a friends wedding this past weekend:

Meet Maddy

Meet our dog Maddy....the other lady in the house. Actually she's more like our child as we have started calling ourselves 'mommy' and 'daddy' when talking to the dog. Now Maddy was in the picture before I was. In January of 2007 Joshua obtained her from his friend Aaron who just couldn't put up with her anymore! HA! She chilled out a lot though in the past year and a half since then! Maddy's a good dog though....she loves Joshua and gives him lots of attention! HA! She's very well trained and even knows certain words like - sit, shake, stay, potty along with her least favorite words - vet, bath, tub, but her favorites by far are - outside, ride in the car, patio! Aww...such a smart dog! Here's a couple of pics of her on the bed, which we now frown upon, she sometimes gets up there when we're not home - BAD DOG!!

The Wedding

After six months of being engaged, with two of those months of me being in Indonesia.....the wedding finally came - November 17, 2007. It was a little cool that day, not too bad, and there was a slight drizzle. Which I heard is good luck on your wedding day, not that I believe in that! I woke up that morning feeling horrible, my immune system was wiped and the sickness I had the two weeks before was back. My mother took me that morning to get a shot of cortizone. Which did help a bit but I still felt bad for the rest of the day. But it wasn't going to keep me from having a great wedding day! We had a blast....ceremony was spiritual and unique and the reception was yummy and filled with dancing! We spent our honeymoon that next week in Antigua. Here's a couple of pics.

Our Story

Welcome to The Marcy's blog! I thought we should keep a blog to keep our friends and family who are far away updated on what's going on in our lives! And please know we'd love to find out what's going on with you and your family.

I met Joshua Marcy in February of 2007 and our affection for each other quickly grew! And by the end of May 2007 we were engaged! Here is a picture of when we first started dating. We were both super excited to be dating each other and enjoyed getting to know one another we spent almost everyday together in one way or another! It was just about love at first sight! Once he asked my father's permission to marry me, we headed up to Castle Rock, CO to see his parents for Memorial Day weekend. And it was my first time to meet them! One day his dad drove us around the mountains and we stopped at an area called Loveland Pass to hike up to the top of the mountain so we could see several mountain ranges. And let me tell you, it wasn't warm and comfortable but cold and the air was getting thin! We decided to stop at a certain point and sit down on some rocks. It was then that he turned around and pulled his ring box out to ask me to marry him! YAY! And I said

yes, of course! Colorado is beautiful and there couldn't have been a better place for him to ask me. Hopefully we will be able to take our kids there and say 'This is where it all began'.
